CarChip
Fleet®
CarChip
Fleet includes all the data logging capabilities of CarChipE/X,
but is designed to be used with our Fleet Management Software (sold
separately).
You'll
get up to 300 hours
of trip details, including distance, speed, time, hard accelerations
and decelerations, engine diagnostic trouble codes, and an accident
log. The accident log records the last 20 seconds of speed before a
complete stop. You'll also be able to monitor any four out of 23
user-selectable engine parameters. After reviewing diagnostic trouble
codes, managers can quickly and easily set CarChip to turn the "check
engine" light off.
With
CarChip Fleet and our
Fleet Management Software, you'll also get additional reporting
capabilities that let you:
- Sort data and create reports
according to selected criteria.
- Track and compare drivers and
vehicles by fleet, group, or location.
- Summarize data by selected date
range—day, week, month, or longer.
Includes
CarChip data logger only. Requires Fleet
Management Software,
which is sold seperately. Buy as many data loggers as you like; you'll
need just one Fleet Management Software package. Requires Windows
98SE/2000/ME/XP, at least 32 MB (64 MB recommended) free hard disk
space, and one free USB port.

Vehicle
Conflicts and Exclusions
There
are a few vehicles in which CarChip does not function properly, and
there are others in which CarChip may interfere with the normal
operation of the vehicle. Please review the list of known CarChip
Vehicle Conflicts and Exclusions before purchasing or using
CarChip.
Important
Safety Notice
CarChip
has been carefully designed and
tested to comply with the OBDII protocols used on most cars and light
trucks sold in the USA, model-year 1996 or later. However, some vehicle
models are not in full compliance with these protocols. In addition,
the computer control systems on any given vehicle may be malfunctioning
or out of spec, as may be the sensors used by these systems.
Before
installing CarChip, be
sure to review the list of known vehicle exclusions and anomalies (see
the link above). For more information on OBDII issues and anomalies in
general, we recommend The Equipment and Tool Institute's website at www.etools.org.
While
our testing and the experience of
thousands of CarChip users have shown the unit to be safe and reliable,
there is an inherent risk in adding any aftermarket product that may
potentially affect the operation or drivability of your vehicle. Should
you be concerned about the operation of your vehicle at any time while
using CarChip, you should pull over, off the roadway, immediately or as
soon as it is safe to do so. Remove CarChip from the OBDII port and
consult a licensed mechanic or automobile service center.
