This
Comcurve-5 is a handy and a compact made instrument capable of taking
quick measurements of lines in any form and in any scale. Also it can
be used as a counter by switching a shift key.
- All measuring units are
available, such as groups of meters
(mm, cm, m, km), inches (in, ft, yd, mile) and nautical mile (n. m).
- It
performs automatic conversion of any and all scales of lines. It also
converts acquired
measurement results into any other units.
- It averages the measurement
results by measuring several
times to minimize the measuring error.
- It can calculate accumulative
measurement values by adding up
the number of measurement.
- It is compact, made in pocket
size. So it is portable at
everywhere.
- It is quite useful for
measuring lengths contained in various
design drawings and curved lengths of paper patterns in addition to
measurements of maps and marine charts.

1.
Press the ON key to turn the power on.
2. Set
measuring direction.
While pressing the shift key, push key 4 (R/L) to set the measuring
direction.

Input the scale value.
Use the number key to input the figures of 50,000. 50,000 is displayed
on the display window.
Then, by pushing the key 3 (SCALE) with the SHIFT key being pressed,
the ? mark appears on SC to indicate the input is completed.
4.
Input unit.
While pressing the SHIFT key, press

key 9 (UNIT) (0 is
displayed) to let the ? mark show unit at km. Then, the buzzer sounds
when the START AND HOLD SoH key is pressed, indicating that measurement
is ready to start.
5. Set
the tracing point at a
starting point and start tracing a line carefully.
6.
When the measurement is complete,
press the START AND HOLD SoH key
The number shown on the display window is the distance value just
measured.
